As the service arm of the Millgrain Group, Backhouse Bloore began with the ships agency division in 1979 to provide a service for worldwide shipowners to ensure safe and swift passage of their vessels coming into Liverpool. The agency division was followed in 1980 by the superintendents division which offered a quality service in sampling, testing and supervising goods supplied for some of the UK’s largest food manufacturers. These two divisions became the heart of Backhouse Bloore’s growth, responding to the demands of the international community by expanding and controlling its numerous operational activities. As a registered Liverpool Freeport trader, Backhouse ensure the most economic methods of movement for client cargo.
